DigiPager V1.5 Now Released and successfully deployed by the United States Census Bureau!
New Features
- Compatible with cellular AND pager services that allow for text messaging via intenet email.
- Cellular/Pager units within a Name Group may have different service providers.
- A unit may now consist of a valid email address.
In order to use DigiPager v1.5 you must have the following:
- Cellular service (or text paging service) with a service provider that allows for text messaging via email
formatted as:
unitnumber@serviceprovider.com
Just Contact Us with your service provider's URL and Name and we will verify for you if you are unsure of compatability. - Your cellular account must allow for text messaging for each unit you intend to add to the DigiPager Database.
- Your Web Server must be configured to allow you to execute CGI.
- Your Web Server must have PERL installed (all testing has been done with version 5+).
- DigiPager v1.5 uses sendmail (BLAT and SOCKET versions will be released in the very near future!).
- You must have FTP and possibly TELNET access to your site for upload and CHMOD.
Additionally, you should have:
- a basic knowledge of FTP and system permissions (i.e. CHMOD).
- a basic knowledge of editing and saving text files.
- a basic knowledge of HTML for configuring your site appearance variables as well as Header and Footer options.
Notice:
DigiPager products are not a means to circumvent text message billing by your service provider.
All DigiPager products interface with the appropriate service providers and any fees associated with text
messaging of your units incurred as a result of using any DigiPager product(s) are your responsibilty as per your
agreement with your service provider.
